The Friends of the Almighty are thanking East Providence businesses and organizations for their involvement in the recent Business and Community Sponsorship Drive. The goal of the drive is to replace the current wooden chimney with a watertight structure that prevents debris from entering the first-floor exhibit room and heavy rainfall from causing flooding. The Victorian design of the current structure will also be reconstructed. The New England maritime light station and museum is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
