Two men, Chung Biu Yuen and Chi Leung Wai, both dual Chinese and British nationals, are on trial in London accused of spying for Hong Kong and China. The men are accused of carrying out hostile surveillance on pro-democracy dissidents for both Hong Kong (HKETO) and ultimately China. They deny charges of assisting a foreign intelligence service between December 2023 and May 2024 and conducting "foreign interference" by forcing entry into a residential address. The Chinese Embassy in London has accused Britain of fabricating the charges and said it had no right to interfere in Hong Kong's affairs.
