Dangerous storms possible across Virginia; damaging winds, large hail and potentially strong tornadoes are threats

Much of Virginia could be hit by severe weather, with potential tornadoes potentially developing across southern Virginia and North Carolina. The National Weather Service's threat level scale ranges from 1 to 5, with much of the middle of the state under a Level 4 threat. The strongest storms are expected to occur as the cold front approaches and moves through the region later in the day. For marine vessels, small craft advisory conditions are expected.
