Smoked out: Popular barbecue chain abruptly shuts down all locations nationwide

The popular barbecue restaurant chain, Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill, has closed all of its locations across the U.S. following a sudden closure due to financial strain and industry headwinds. The closures followed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing by parent companies FAT Brands Inc. and Twin Hospitality Group. The company had been trying to restructure debts and stabilize operations but failed to do so. The chain had been downsizing its footprint significantly since its peak at around 130 locations.
