Chelmsford racecourse says it is appealing licence decision

Chelmsford City Racecourse is appealing a decision to cancel upcoming fixtures at the venue, claiming it has caused unnecessary damage to the sport and its reputation. The venue, which operated as Great Leighs Estates Limited, went into administration last month and a new company applied for a license to host races. The decision was made after Chelmsford city council placed a restriction on its events licence for concerts with over 10,000 people.
