Shean Troy Amerson, a Pontiac man, was convicted of murder and first-degree child abuse in the beating death of his then-girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter in 2021. The child was found unconscious and later died at the Children's Hospital in Detroit. Amerson was charged with the lesser offense of involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to at least 15 years in prison.
