Cleveland cafe launches tinned fish school as trend grows nationwide

Tinned fish sales are increasing, with Mordor Intelligence predicting a rise from $15.2 billion in 2026 to $19.6 billion in 2025. Foodies are embracing the trend for convenience and health reasons. To help Clevelanders appreciate artisan tinned fish, Thomas Leguard at Astoria Café & Market in Cleveland’s Gordon Square has launched Tinned Fish School. The class includes a glass of wine, fish samples, and two hours of education. During class, students examine flavors and textures, Leguad provides geography lessons, sustainability information and serving suggestions.
