Cool front arrives just in time for the weekend

A cold front is set to arrive in the New Orleans area just in time for the weekend, bringing relief to the air. The combination of dry air, breezy northerly winds, and ongoing drought could cause dangerous fire weather conditions. A Red Flag Warning has been issued for most areas along and north of the I-10/I-12 corridor. Despite this, temperatures are expected to warm quickly and there will be scattered afternoon showers.
