The Canadian hockey team's 33-year-old Stanley Cup drought has reached its peak after the Montreal Canadiens were defeated by the Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final. The Stanley Cup has remained in the United States for 33 consecutive seasons. This season, only three teams had a chance to end the drought, but two failed to make it out of the first round.
