A recent DatingNews.com survey revealed that 70% of singles would go on a first date at a fast-food restaurant, with the most popular spot being a fast food restaurant. The survey polled 1,500 single U.S. adults aged 18 to 61. The study also found that while housing costs are too high and student debt are high, many young people are facing financial strain, with average U.K. rent nearly $2,000 per month and federal student loan debt at $39,075 per borrower. Wendy Walsh, professor of psychology at the California State University, Channel Islands, believes that the economic factors behind this trend are due to rising housing costs and rising consumer prices. Among the fast food options available, Chick-fil-A is the most affordable option, with 20% of single Americans ranking it as their No. 1 choice.
