Long Beach resident Alex Kleiman, who pleaded guilty to tax evasion in 2024, has been ordered to enter gambling addiction treatment and increase his bail bond to $350,000. Prosecutors have new evidence showing Kleiman gambling at multiple casinos while under an order to pay restitution of $2.6 million for unpaid taxes. The plea agreement came after Kleiman admitted to underpaying his taxes on nearly $8 million in earnings over a three-year period between 2018 and 2021. The prosecution also revealed that he had admitted underreporting his income in 2016 and 2017 while he was CFO of a medical supply company. Despite this, prosecutors have stated that Kleiman has not repaid any of his $3.5 million in restitution.
