Ukraine seeks more LNG and diesel from Greece, state-run Naftogaz says
Published on March 30, 2026.
Ukraine is seeking to increase LNG and diesel supplies from Greece, particularly through Greek terminals and the pipelines of the Vertical Corridor system, according to state-run energy company Naftogaz. This comes as Ukraine is building up its gas reserves for the winter and is already receiving U.S. liquefied natural gas via Greece, but its share of total imports remains small. Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and Hungary agreed in 2016 to develop the infrastructure for the Vertical Gas Corridor, which would allow the transmission of LNG between the countries in either direction. The company also discussed diesel fuel supplies, the use of the Greek fleet, and other mutually beneficial projects.
