Twins reliever Kody Funderburk's wife, Alicia, is undergoing chemotherapy for Hodgkin lymphoma and due to deliver their first child on Monday. Kody will be on paternity leave from the team for the weekend series against the Cincinnati Reds and will be available to support Alicia as she gives birth. The couple made a long-distance relationship work and eventually married in January 2023. Despite the pregnancy, Kody believes that the health of Alicia and her child have been well-received so far.
