Microsoft's CEO, Mustafa Suleyman, has shifted his focus to pursuing superintelligence, becoming the company's CEO of AI following a significant restructuring in mid-March. This shift comes after the company underwent large-scale restructuring and includes the addition of its enterprise and consumer teams under the Copilot AI banner. Jacob Andreou, formerly a corporate vice president of product and growth for Microsoft AI, became its executive vice president. The new AI model, MAI-Transcribe-1, aims to tackle challenging recording conditions and analyze call center exchanges in 25 languages. It is half the cost of other state-of-the-art models, making it a significant cost-saving for Microsoft. The move comes as AI companies face increasing pressure to deliver more revenue and competition is increasing.
