Prince's former studio-turned-museum in Chanhassen, Minnesota, has remained a global attraction ten years after Prince died at Paisley Park. The facility, which opened in 1987, is still popular with fans worldwide and tours are still offered five days a week, typically a dozen or more per day. Tickets for the Ultimate Tour, which costs $75-$200, regularly sell out. Celebrities including Bruno Mars, Shania Twain, Katy Perry, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and members of One Direction have also been on the tour. However, some die-hard Prince fans have been frustrated that more new exhibits and events are not held there beyond the annual Celebration around Prince's June 7 birthday. A new regime of museum operators is working to open up the place more to the public while archival work is essential. A memorial event dubbed A Day 2 Remember will mark the 10th anniversary of Prince's death on April 21. Makayla Elder, museum collections manager, emphasized the extensive archival and archiving work involved in securing the safekeeping of his personal items and maintaining the integrity of the museum.
