A massive sailboat that washed ashore along Flagler Beach has been a tourist attraction for over six weeks. The owners of the vessel lost navigation while traveling from St. Augustine to the Florida Keys and initially had 21 days left to remove it. The city secured a $42,000 contract with Isla Marine to remove the vessel. Despite initially being scheduled to move it down the coastline, it has become too fragile to move in one piece. The remaining pieces of the sailboat will be removed from the shore. Police have arrested seven juveniles for burglary and graffiti.
