Kodai Senga performed well in his second Grapefruit League start, finishing with five strikeouts and leaving after 38 pitches. This performance is reminiscent of his performance in the first half of last season, when he had to accept a minor league assignment in September. Sengas averaged 96.5 mph with his four-seam fastball, which topped out at 98.6 mph. Clayton Holmes also played five innings in a piggyback role, allowing him to build up his progression towards the regular season. The team's president of baseball operations, David Stearns, remains hopeful that Francisco Lindor will be ready for Opening Day.
