Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has criticised Russia for not responding to a ceasefire offer, stating that Moscow had been informed about the details of the ceasefire. However, he indicated that Kiev had little interest in a ceasefire specifically for Russia's Victory Day celebrations on May 9. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned of retaliation if Ukraine attacked the military parade in Moscow.
