Swalwell calls sexual assault claims ‘flat false’ as pressure mounts to drop governor bid

Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) has denied allegations of sexual assault against him, calling them "false". The allegations were reported by the San Francisco Chronicle and CNN, which included three additional women accusing him of sexual misconduct. Major political allies and party leaders have withdrawn their support for the campaign following the reports. California Sen. Adam Schiff (D), a key supporter of the campaign, also expressed deep concern over the allegations. The Democratic House leadership called the allegations "incredibly disturbing" and urged an investigation.
