North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has pledged to continue supporting Russia's policies and discussed bolstering military ties with Moscow. This comes as a ceremony was held for a memorial for North Korean soldiers killed in the Ukraine war. Analysts suggest that such cooperation could continue beyond the Ukraine conflict, despite the conflict. Russia and North Korea in 2024 signed a comprehensive ⁠Strategic Partnership Treaty, which includes a mutual defense provision. In return for sending troops and munitions, North Korea has received economic and military technology assistance from Russia.
