LIU wins NEC championship with return to March Madness for first time since 2018 already secure

Long Island University (Liu) won the Northeast Conference championship game over Mercyhurst 79-70, marking the school's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018. The school is ineligible for the tournament due to its 2024 jump from Division II to Division I and must wait until 2027-28. The victory was witnessed by the Sharks, who scored 15 of 28 free throws.
