Australia's petrol stations have experienced localised shortages during the Middle East conflict, resulting in some travellers cancelling their plans for the long holiday weekend. Energy Minister Chris Bowen urged people to stick to their plans, but not to accumulate more fuel. The country has an estimated 312 service stations without diesel out of around 8,000. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has warned of the economic impact of the conflict and encouraged citizens to use public transportation.
