Baton Rouge officials are planning a series of events to address blight, stimulate home ownership, and revitalize the community. The first event will involve a tour of residential and commercial properties revitalized, followed by a fair housing workshop at the Baton Rouge Garden Center. The event coincides with the anniversary of the signing of the Fair Housing Act in 1968. One bill proposes that state fire marshal should require owners of abandoned or blighted structures to install and maintain security cameras on property.
