HBO's "Euphoria" series, which premiered on HBO in 2019, had its first-time actor, Angus Cloud, who died from a fentanyl overdose in 2023 while the show was on hiatus after more than four years off the air. The show's Season 3 premiere picks up after a five-year time jump, with the characters all exploring early adulthood in different ways. Series creator Sam Levinson said that Cloud would "be cracking up at his storyline" in the last few episodes of the season. He also mentioned that Cloud, one of 70,000 people in the US that died of an overdose in that year, would "love" the show. The season 3 premiere also included an "in memoriam" note at the end of the episode featuring supporting actor Eric Dane and executive producer Kevin Turen.
