A survey conducted by The Asian American Foundation and NORC at the University of Chicago has found that Asian Americans are the most anxious group in the U.S. The survey also revealed that around 44% of Asian Americans feel worried about their lives, with 40% expressing fear. The study also found that 66% of AAPIs support DEI programs, the highest of any racial group, and that 21% believe Chinese Americans pose a threat to society. The findings were behind the STAATUS Index, the leading national study of Americans' perceptions of Asian American. The report also highlighted hardening attitudes and misconceptions about Asian Americans from the general public. Despite declining anti-Asian incidents, anti- Asian hate crime has risen around 200% since 2015.
