Talarico notches record fundraising haul

Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico raised over $27 million in the first quarter of 2026, surpassing his opponent, Republican U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, who is currently facing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in a May runoff. This money will play a significant role in persuading voters in what is expected to be a highly expensive race. The largest amount ever raised by a U.N. Senate candidate for the first time in an election year is $100 or less.
