An 8-year-old boy was hit by a pickup truck in the back parking lot of the Towers Apartment complex in Newport News, Virginia, while he was taking out the trash. The victim, Brion, said he was pulling a shopping cart full of trash to put it in containers on the ground. The driver of the black pickup did not stop and did not immediately check on the child or provide immediate assistance. Herbert Smith, another witness, expressed frustration over the lack of attention given to the incident. The incident occurred around 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday.
