Michigan guard Elliot Cadeau was named Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four after a standout performance in the 2026 national title game against UConn, marking one of the best performances of his career. The victory comes just over a year after a split with North Carolina, where he shot 39 of 142 (27.4%) from 3-point range. Despite previous criticism from teams about his shooting ability, he rebuffed them and returned to form with Michigan. The team won its first national title since 1989 and completed a remarkable turnaround in their fortunes to win their second national title and the first by a Big Ten program since 2000. Coach Dusty May credits Cadeaux with his success and believes that trust in him and his teammates have helped him become a better player.
