State Sen. Glenn Womack has proposed Senate Concurrent Resolution 24, aimed at easing rules related to chronic wasting disease (Cw. . The Current Hunting Regulations currently restrict hunters to harvest deer in areas monitored for the disease. Womak argues that this change would help wildlife officials track the disease and reduce impacts on hunters and local economies. The resolution has passed the Senate and is now in a House committee.
