Power restoration efforts continue as thousands of people across the country remain without power following a windstorm last week. The Duquesne Light Company has restored 155,000 customers to their homes and businesses, but focus is now on smaller areas where many are still waiting for their power to be restored. The power was still out at Tammy Deemer's home in Wilkins Township on Monday evening, with more than 5,500 people without power. The utility company's power outage map showed that nearly 6000 customers were still without power due to damage from the windstorm. Some residents have been staying in a hotel due to the lack of electricity, staying warm in the dark and using wood burner to close off their rooms.
