NCAA Announces CFB Rule Changes to Targeting, Uniforms and More Ahead of 2026 Season

The NCAA has announced changes to its football rule, including changes to player targeting, uniform requirements, and penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct. A first-offence will no longer result in an automatic suspension for a player, but a second will result in a disqualification and a suspension for the entire game. The fair catch kick rule now applies to teams attempting a field goal or drop kick following a completed or unsuccessful attempt.
