Jets newcomers hope to make up receiving core alongside Garrett Wilson for the long-term

The New York Jets are hoping to bolster their receiving core with newcomers Adonai Mitchell and Omar Cooper Jr. as long-term running mates for Garrett Wilson. The Jets have had a revolving door in their receiver corps, with players like Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, Denzel Mims, Allen Lazard, Xavier Gipson, Davante Adams, Mike Williams and John Metchie all having more than 536 yards in a season. Cooper, who was a first-round draft pick after leading the Big Ten with 21.2 yards per catch in 2024 and catching 13 touchdowns last season from No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza, is hoping to be Wilson's long-standing running mate. Wilson led the Jets last season with 395 yards, the lowest team-high total in the NFL since the 1992 Rams.
