The 152nd Kentucky Derby, the annual Run for the Roses, has resulted in multiple horse scratches. Right to Party, who had been trained by Kenneth G. McPeek and was set to compete in the coveted No. 5 gate for the 152nd race, was removed from the field 24 hours before the race due to health concerns. The decision was made by Regulatory veterinarians due to right front lameness, an abnormality or pain in a horse's right front leg that could potentially endanger both the horse and jockey if left unaddressed. With Right To Party's withdrawal, Robusta, trained by two-time Kentucky Derby winner Doug F. Ocelli, who entered the race with 50-1 odds, will be replaced by Great White, who is trained by John Ennis. The Kentucky Derby is set to take place on May 2.
