A round of severe thunderstorms moved through the Kansas City area Thursday night, but expected to be more comfortable and cooler for the weekend. Friday and Saturday are expected to provide the best days of the stretch, with temperatures expected to reach the lower 70s and lower humidity. However, rain chances will return late in the weekend, with a better chance for more widespread storms starting late Sunday afternoon and continuing into the evening and overnight hours. The unsettled pattern is expected to continue into Monday, with additional chances for showers and thunderstorms and high temperatures in the mid-70s.
