On Friday, a group of women gathered outside Janet Swallow's home in Danvers, Massachusetts, to pay respects to the slain woman. Family friend Stephen Bardell said that Swallow served as a second mother to him when he was a teenager. He expressed his fond memories of the woman and said it was hard to comprehend how she may have been killed by a troubled teen. Neighbors are also trying to understand what investigators are calling a random act of violence.
