Transit police say criminal charges warranted in MBTA bus crash in Medford

The Massachusetts Bay Police Department has called for criminal charges after an MBTA bus crashed into two homes and several parked cars in Medford early in the morning. The driver, a 40-year-old man, crossed over double yellow lines and failed to stop for a red light at the I-93 off ramp on the Somerville-Medford line, according to Transit Police. The bus driver has since been suspended. Police are seeking several criminal violations including Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Stop at a Red Light.
