The Atlanta Falcons have reportedly signed quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to a contract with them after he was released by the Miami Dolphins this year. The Dolphins are still footing the $99 million dead money charge, which will be split over two years after he became designated as a post-June 1 cut. The No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL draft, who earned the only Pro Bowl selection of his career in 2023, will compete with third-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr. for the starting job for the 2026 season.
