Corrales resident reflects on historic 1966 NCAA title run with Texas Western

The 1966 NCAA championship run for the Texas Western College Miners marked a significant change in college sports, as the first team to win with an all-black starting lineup. The team defeated legendary coach Adolph Rupp’s all-White Kentucky Wildcats 72-65. The 2006 movie "Glory Road" documented the team's journey under coach Don Haskins. Louis Baudoin, now 81, now lives in Corrales and is one of six players from the Miners team still alive today. The film was part of a citywide remembrance of that championship 60 years ago.
