Mexican consulate says major tourist areas remain safe for spring break travel

The Mexican Consulate in Laredo has stated that major tourist areas are safe and unaffected, despite recent controversies. The consulate's General Juan Carlos Mendoza stated that the International Airport Vallarta and Guadalajara are completely open. He also encouraged visitors to adhere to the same basic safety practices as any large city.
