NBA Alum Glen Davis Released from Prison Early After Being Convicted in NBA Health Insurance Fraud Scheme

Former NBA player Glen Davis has been released from prison after serving 17 months in prison for his role in a scheme to defraud the NBA's Players' Health and Welfare Benefit Plan. Davis was convicted in November 2023 for defrauding over $5 million over several years. The former Boston Celtics player was sentenced to three years in prison, but was granted a seven-week delay so he could finish filming a documentary about his life. Following his imprisonment, Davis will enter a halfway house to help transition out of prison and will undergo financial management classes and drug treatment.
