San Jose native Joelle Anderson scored the winning goal and 18-year-old Alex Pfeiffer also contributed to Bay FC's 2-1 victory over expansion team Denver Summit FC. The game marked the team's coaching debut for Emma Coates, who previously coached the England U-23 Women's National Team. The win came just five minutes into the game, with Summit captain Janine Sonis sent off for a dangerous tackle.
