Conservative MP Marc Dalton has called for the cancellation of Toronto performances of classical Chinese dance company Shen Yun by the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts due to bomb threats. The threats, which have been confirmed to be an act of mischief by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), were sent to the venue as it was about to start performing. The theatre cancelled the third show on March 29 after receiving an email threat warning of a bomb if the show went ahead. The venue later cancelled the show due to escalating threats and decided to cancel the remaining five shows. Local presenter of Shen Yun, the Falun Dafa Association of Toronto, claims there have been over 150 such incidents of fake threats globally against Shen Yun over the last two years.
