This move comes as a result of a partial government shutdown leaving TSA checkpoints understaffed. The app will also provide estimates of the wait time for security at your departure airport. Other improvements include turn-by-turn directions to your gate and automatic flight status updates. The update is expected to significantly reduce the time it takes to reunite passengers with their luggage.
