Jenni Griffin, a 38-year-old programmer at Epic Games, has been left without insurance after her husband, Mike Prinke, was among roughly 1,000 employees laid off by the company. Prinke's health insurance was lost due to his illness being considered a pre-existing condition, making it impossible to obtain new coverage. Tim Sweeney, the CEO of Epic, responded by saying that the company was in touch with Griffin and Prinke and would resolve their insurance for them. The family is now scrambling to address financial issues as his condition worsens. The layoffs were part of a cost-cutting effort to reduce spending and decrease Fortnite engagement.
