The University of Texas men's and women's basketball teams are playing in the Sweet 16, marking the first time since 2004 that they have played in the same year. The men's team, an 11th seed, barely made it into the tournament despite a strong 21-14 regular season and defeating NC State, BYU, and Gonzaga by a combined 14 points, making them the lowest-ranked team in the tournament. The women's team has been dominant all season, dropping only three games. Their latest game against eighth-seeded Oregon saw star forward Madison Booker score 40 points.
