Nick Kurtz hits 3rd career grand slam as A’s beat Cardinals 6-2

Nick Kurtz hit his third career grand slam in a 6-2 victory for the Athletics against St. Louis. The win was behind J.T. Ginn, who allowed one unearned run in six innings. Henry Bolte made his major league debut after being promoted from the Aviators. Kurtz's grand slam gave the A's the lead in the fifth inning and extended his on-base streak to 36 games. The A's also had several hits, including a solo homer by Zack Gelof and a single by Nathan Church.
