The Art Institute's once-in-a-lifetime Matisse exhibition is taking place through June 1. The exhibition, "Matisse's Jazz: Rhythms in Color," features reproductions of Matisse's cut-paper collages, made through a hand-stenciling technique called pochoir. The limited-run book, "Jazz," was released in 1947 and was acquired before the complete collection had even been shown in the U.S. The museum is displaying its complete edition of the book for the first time since it entered the museum's collection in 1948.
