President Donald Trump posted an image on his social media feed showing himself as a Christlike figure healing a person shortly after he strongly criticized Pope Leo XIV. The pope has been critical of the United States' military actions in Venezuela and Iran, and has expressed dissatisfaction with the US government's actions in both countries. In his post, Trump accused Pope Leo of being a "very liberal person" and "categorically" liberal, while also suggesting that he should stop catering to the Radical Left. He also suggested that if he wasn't in the White House, Pope Leo wouldn't be in the Vatican. Archbishop Paul Coakley of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops expressed disappointment in Trump's comments, stating that he was "disheartened" by the criticism.
