Alabama teenager, Will Roberts, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in 2025 and posted a video on his mother's Facebook account without her knowledge. The video, which included a plea for President Donald Trump or Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., stated that his chemotherapy was not working and he and his family were running out of options. He also revealed that his mother had found an experimental drug that could potentially save his life if they could obtain it in time, but he was doubtful it could be obtained. The public outcry led to a call with Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, who personally contacted the doctors developing the anti-cancer drug DeltaRex-G in Santa Monica. The drug is available but requires FDA approval for its oncologist in Alabama to administer it.
