An unseasonably cold air mass has brought late-winter chill to Connecticut, keeping the state roughly 10 to 15 degrees below normal for the start of the week. Monday's temperatures will start in the single digits in parts of the state before rising to the upper 20s by the afternoon, while the normal high temperature for early March is in the lower 40s. High pressure is expected to slip offshore to the east on Tuesday, leading to a period of snow and wintry mix from Tuesday evening into the overnight hours, but this is unlikely to significantly impact the state. However, warmer weather is imminent, with forecast models indicating an extended stretch of milder air over the next two weeks.
